The Office of The Rives Family is a Single Family Office (SFO) located in Dallas, Texas and is responsible for maintaining corporate holdings, revenue generating assets, and the management of the family’s personal philanthropic endeavors and personal lifestyles. Through a series of public and private departments, teams, and offices The Office of The Rives Family is dedicated to providing a new world for a better tomorrow.

305 Years

The Office of The Rives Family was established on July 7, 1721 as a private office to consolidate international holdings in The Colony of Virginia which would later become the State of Virginia 67 years later. As the concept of single family offices expanded into the 20th century The Office of The Rives Family, always in line with the march of progress, became an early adopter of the idea.

Our Legacy

The Rives Family has a storied history of maintaining portfolios of private investments. Founded in 1721 by Lord Robert Rives, a member of the British Aristocracy, in order to consolidate holdings maintained throughout Europe, North America, South America, and Asia which predated him by nearly 700 years he also combined his private office which was called The Overseer’s Office thus creating a compact series of departments which allowed him to manage his time more efficiently.

Today The Office of The Rives Family operates three main branches: Rives & Co. which operates a portfolio of wholly owned financial firms throughout the United States and Canada, The Rives Foundation which provides annual grants to organizations which support the performing and visual arts as well as wildlife conservation, and the Rives Estate Management Office which manages the personal lifestyles of members of The Office of The Rives Family Office.

Our Holdings

The Office of The Rives Family maintains two distinct types of holdings. The first being a portfolio of public facing financial institutions which are often acquired via acquisition and operate under their original names. The second series of holdings operate in a private sector and largely consist of farms and other agricultural operations which wholesale to providers and help generate income for the daily operations of the Single Family Office.

    Rives & Co.

    Rives & Co. operates a portfolio of over 800 different financial service providers including tax preparers, bookkeepers, consumer lenders, commercial lender, merchant processing, and donation processing. These firms are often acquired by buying out an existing business, keeping the original name, staff, and location.

    Rives Estate Group

    Rives Estate Group is responsible for overseeing a small portfolio of farms throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and India. These farms and other agricultural operations sell their products to suppliers who then process them for consumers. The revenue generated from this portfolio helps fund internal operations of the Single Family Office side of things including philanthropy, estate and lifestyle management for the family, and internal services which allow the family to maintain their focus on helping others.
